Fall Style Guide

Copy of Hello (5).jpg

Happy Fall Y'all! I couldn't be more excited for everything that fall brings. Warm comfy sweaters, tall boots, football, comfort food, and family. Now that my fall sessions are in full swing I thought it would be the perfect time to share some tips on styling your fall sessions.

I love helping each family that I photograph put together their perfect session outfits. I know that the clothes you choose can really take make your session look ordinary or they can make it extraordinary. I know which colors will make your photos pop and what options you should avoid.

Some of my favorite colors right now.

Note: Mixing and matching these coordinating colors is a great idea or you can always pair them with neutrals to make them really stand out.

For Fall I am loving deep, rich tones. Think mustard yellow, maroon, navy blue, and dark teals

Another great option is to focus on jewel tones like emerald, deep purple, and red.

Remember: You want to coordinate NOT match everything. Mixing colors and patterns is highly suggested. You just want to make sure they look good together (Not sure? You can always shoot me pictures of what you are thinking and I am happy to help you put it all together.)

I am still loving Maxi dresses for Women especially ones with long sleeves for fall. I love clothing pieces that have movement to them. The create such a beautiful effect in photos. Floral prints are huge right now and I am a sucker for anything with lace. Another option is pairing a flowy maxi skirt with a fitted top. Pair it with a lace top for a more dressed up look

For the guys, I recommend choosing one to two pops of color to incorporate into their wardrobe options. I adore the current colored-denim trend. Choose a deep red, mustard yellow, or rust orange for a real fall feel and then pair it with a neutral grey sweater or top.

And let's not forget accessories! Flower crown, hats, and jewelry will really pull everything together and make your outfit choices really stand out. For guys, hats, suspenders, and even bow-ties are fun additions to any outfit.
